Q. Is the funeral tea only for the family?
Mourners are often invited to join the family after a funeral. This is usually in a social environment where people can reflect and remember the deceased with fondness.
An open invitation is usually intimated by the person officiating at the funeral service, sometimes the invitation is also printed on the service sheet.
On occasion the funeral tea is private. If this is the case there would be no invitation and it would usually be announced that the function is private.
