Attend a funeral > Attending a funeral FAQs

Q. I know when the service starts but when should I arrive?

Mourners usually start arriving for a funeral service approximately 20 or 30 minutes prior to the start of the service. We often find there is a steady flow of people arriving right up to the start time for the service.

In the case of a service that expects a large attendance we do find people start arriving earlier, and seating will fill up quicker. Therefore it would be advisable to arrive earlier, if seating is preferred.

Anyone with mobility issues should aim to be at the venue in plenty of time. This will ensure, as much as possible, the use of any relevant facilities.
