Peacefully with her family by her side, on September 15th, 2021, Betty (nee Brown),  aged 91 years, a loving wife of her late husband John.  Also predeceased by her Mum and Dad, Christina & Daniel and her older sister Chrissie.  A dearly loved Mum of Sandra, John (Elaine), Danny (Liz), James (Michelle), and Lorraine.  A much loved sister to David (Isobel) and loving Aunty Betty to Christina.  A forever young Nana to Graham, Nichola (Phil), Scott, Bryan (Jennifer), Christopher, Barry (Sandra), David (Natasha), Scott (Kym), Dawn (Bernie), Cameron and Lisa.  Her legacy will live on in her great grandchildren, Isabel, Elizabeth, Ethan, Archie, Charlie, Harris, Ben, Jenna, Abbey and Arran.  She will be dearly missed by all of her extended family and friends who were fortunate to have crossed her path.

Betty was always young at heart through her love of dancing and travelling. She was a real jetsetter and for the last 40 plus years, went back and forth to Canada, but always enjoyed coming back home to her family in Scotland.

She was Queen of the Irish Club of Mississauga where she was surrounded by many friends who loved her dearly.  Whether you called her Elizabeth, Betty, Mum, Aunty Betty, Maw, Nana and Gran Gran, she was always full of smiles and had that mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

Mum/Nana, you leave us with all of your love and happy memories and we know you will be with us always.  We will send you off with these words from Johnny’s song “This Is Not Goodbye”.

I’ll keep you forever in my heart
Till I see you again
May our song never end
Till then remember this is not goodbye

Anyone who wishes to attend the funeral is asked to register in advance by telephoning 01324 822159 (during office hours). It is hoped that this will prevent delays as people enter the crematorium, anyone who has not pre-registered will be allowed to enter the building (if there is room) but their details will need to be recorded at the crematorium in order to comply with the Test & Protect Scheme.
