News > Covid-19 update on Government Restrictions regarding attendance at funerals (July 2021)

As of 19th July Social Distancing at funeral services will reduce to 1 metre with the volume of people who can attend increasing to 200 (if the venue is large enough).

We therefore request that anyone who wishes to attend a funeral service contact us in advance to register their place & help prevent delays as mourners enter the venue (whilst ensuring that we continue to follow Government rules regarding the Test & Protect system).

Please note there may be instances where a family have expressed a wish to hold a private funeral or the maximum number of places have already been booked in advance of the funeral.

In instances where a person has not pre-registered we will do all we can to enable them to attend the funeral service  (if they turn up) but it may be that the venue does not have sufficient capacity to allow this.

It continues to be a requirment that face coverings should be worn for the duration of the funeral (unless a person is expempt from doing so).
